A Testimony from the Mountains

God is always moving we just have to look around see what He is doing and join Him. One thing that is so special about Big Heart Mountains is our location. God divinely placed us right beside a village. Throughout the years God has showed us needs and how we can help the village and we have gotten to joyfully respond to God and help.

In the summer months before school started, we came across a big sale on backpacks. God just simply placed on our hearts the village kids and so we bought the backpacks in hopes of giving them out to the kids. We did not have anything really to go inside but trusted that God would provide.

Then, one by one, people started asking if we could use items they had. For example, a lady from India donated money to put a notebook, crayons and pencils in each bag. A family from Pennsylvania donated soap- enough for each bag to have at least one. An older couple from Ohio gave pre-packaged snacks and treats. Big Heart in Reynosa had toothbrushes, notebooks, and glue that was extra from a donation they had received. They also had pencil cases- the exact same number as the number of bookbags! It turns out that everything that was offered went perfectly in the backpacks to fill them!

The really special part is that no one knew we were hoping to hand out bookbags, nor did they know what God had placed on our hearts. Each of these people simply asked if we had a need or a way to use what they had. God prompted their hearts, and the gifts made the backpacks full and ready to be given to children that could really use them. What is even more incredible is that more children than we have ever seen in the village showed up for the event, and we had exactly the number of bags to give out!

God used this to remind us that nothing is insufficient for the kingdom of God, He can use every willing heart to make mighty impacts on the kingdom of God.
